A fully-automated sales funnel is simply your customer journey, automated. This means you don’t have to get involved at any stage from the moment they first discover your business and when they become a customer.
If you’ve been wanting to create your own automated sales funnel, I want you to think about three things.
In today’s video, we’re going to cover the steps you can take within each of these phases, in order to create your very own, high-converting sales funnel.
You’re going to create something really valuable to give away for free – this is called a lead magnet, freebie, or freemium, and it’s essentially something so valuable you could sell it, but you’ll give it away for free in exchange for someone’s email.
Not only does this freebie need to be super valuable and solve a problem for your ideal customer in some way, but it also needs to be directly linked to your service or product, otherwise you’re building an email list of people who are never going to buy from you.
Create an opt-in page detailing the outcome of your freebie, to entice people to exchange their email for you freebie. Then, you’ll connect this landing page to an email autoresponder which will automatically email out the freebie to your new lead.
You’re going to create searchable content about your topic or area of expertise, like blog a post, YouTube video, or podcast episode, that will mention the freebie as a way for the ready to go deeper with the topic, and that’s where you’ll put the link to your opt-in page – when someone opts in, their journey down the funnel begins.
So, you’ve already set up an autoresponder to email out the freebie, but we don’t want to stop there. One day later, we want to start sending a series of emails called a “Welcome Sequence” usually 3-5, which educate your new subscriber about
- you and your brand story,
- how to further connect with you, and
- what they can expect from you.
You’ll also offer more free resources as a way to give value and demonstrate your expertise.
Around the 5th or 6th email, you’re going to invite them to take action, and this is the beginning of your sales process.
Choose your sales process. After the “Welcome Sequence” were going to ask them to take some sort of action, which will trigger one of the following three funnels:
Email Sales Funnel
Presentation Sales Funnel
- Webinar (AKA Free Training)
- 5 Day Challenge
- Video Series
To figure out which one is right for you, ask yourself two questions,
- Is my product ready to sell?
Yes – move on to question 2
If no – use a Waitlist Funnel
- How much am I selling it for?
If it’s ready to sell, also ask “how much are you selling it for?”
Under $497 – Email Sales Funnel
Over $497 – Presentation Sales Funnel
There’s definitely a grey area from $297 – $497. And overall, presentation funnels convert better, but take a lot more time and usually money to set up. The more your product costs the more likely a presentation funnel will work better for you.
So, that pretty much sums it all up, we’ve gone over the 3 Cs of funnel building, and again those are
Capture – where you create an irresistible freebie and an opt-in page
